View Full Version : New Rockstar game: "L.A. Noire"
Rockstar Games has announced a new game for next generation consoles (and possibly the PC) called L.A. Noire. It is very possible that the game will use the same graphics engine as Grand Theft Auto IV.
The first full trailer for the game will be released on October 5 at:

Has anyone checked if the workers at R* are alive.....Maybe TakeTwo has evil Space aliens chained up to make the worlds greatest games.....

yea, they are amazing, I mean in the middle of thinking that the next release would be like a gta game or something like that, out o nowhere came table tennis, and yet still awesome. i have never seen any other company do that.
Yeah they do deserve some credit.

Theres a book? Mmm.. cheers for the info, I'll check it out. If it has anything to do with 1930-40's detectives then i'm sure it will be.
I googled L.A. Noir (book), summary:
Det. Sgt. Lloyd Hopkins is the most brilliant homicide detective in the Los Angeles Police Department. A thinking cop in a brutal world, his obsession with hunting down monsters is more than an occupational hazard -- it's become a lifestyle. In three explosive cases, he will venture into the heart of evil... while trying to reclaim his own soul.
1st case:
Blood on the Moon: Twenty random killings of women remain unconnected in police files. But Det. Sgt. Lloyd Hopkins sees a pattern.
2nd case:
Because the Night: Jacob Herzog, hero cop, has disappeared. A multiple murder committed with a pre-Civil War revolver remains unsolved. Are the two cases linked? As Det. Sgt. Lloyd Hopkins pieces the puzzle together, he uncovers a startling trail of arcane secrets and madness -- all leading to one psychotic mastermind.
3rd case:
Suicide Hill: Duane Rice kidnaps a bank manager's girlfriend and an orgy of violence erupts. Leading the manhunt, Det. Sgt. Lloyd Hopkins stumbles on a horrifying conspiracy of corruption and betrayal -- among his own colleagues...
Sounds a little like Condemned on the 360

I am really liking the direction that is being taken by Team Bondi to create this game.
@Djrussell - From what I know, Team Bondi is not Rockstar Australia, but a separate company started by one of the team members of The Getaway. The reason Rockstar is publishing this game is because the Team Bondi leader is good friends with Dan Houser.

Hyped for your's and R*'s version of the site. I'm expecting this to be another great out of nowhere release from R*.
Also for Justin - I've tried signing up for your Bully Board as well but I keep on getting this e-mail is already in use...I've tried with made-up e-mails and get the same results, whats going on?
Also, did anyone seem to catch this pic from Team Bondi's website? (Found it when searching the game at Wikipedia)

damn i've been waiting for this trailer all day, lost count how many times i've refreshed that page, not i've got 30 mins left before i go do a 12 hours shift at work, what are the chances it will be up before i go...

Well since Team Bondi is in Australia, I would think that they won't be releasing the video until late tonight or early tomorrow (I don't know if they've already put it out, I've not got to check yet).

I'll have to check out the trailer at school tomorrow, but I expect good things.
Also according to LANOIRE.NET, the game is going to be in colour, not like earlier reports of the entire game being in black and white.

Looks awesome, not your average free-roamer (which i thought it would be) mind you not many rockstar games are what they seem. The idea of a partner is good too.

I'm betting it will be October 2007, as October has always been a popular release month for Rockstar Games.
I'm sure they will port a PC version eventually.

It reminded me of the godfather a little, but not the times, the godfather gave a very dull feel for the times (wanted to focus on the movie feel) while this game's vibe just reeks of those older detective movies. The reason it reminded me of the godfather was the fighting on the roof, and the whole option of throwing the guy off the roof. Im hoping for a nice blend of GTA and Max Payne on this one. I love free-roam always, It just makes the game last longer and lets you relax from the main missions while not having to turn off your game.
